"Sol de Espana" - Ballet Espanol de Yoko Komatsubara Silvia Duran and her Spanish Dance Company Francisco Velasco Tali Roth , Leonid Detzelman, Pavel Levin Juan Carlos Berlanga, Antonio Gonzalez, Natalia Marin Gabriel Piez de Plomo
Last night the second of three performances of the Silvia Duran Spanish Dance Company took place in Tokio. Silvia Duran and her Company were invited to Japan by Yoko Komatsubara who explained to the audience why she brought a Flamenco Dance Company from Israel and not from Spain. The answer was very evident in the quality of the performance of the Silvia Duran Company which is being received in Tokyo, playing to full houses and great audience acclaim.
Silvia Duran, herself, amazed us by her super professional performance onstage and also through her engaging Company. The Male Dancer from Spain, Francisco Velasco, made a great contribution to the evening and also the Japanese dancers of Komatsubara who performed together with the Israeli dancers a number of well-known flamenco pieces. The Pianist and Violinist from Israel and the group of Flamenco Musicians (guitarists and singers) from Seville, Spain were wonderful, singing in the original language of the Flamenco which gave so much to the performance.
A great part of the performance was the Classical Guitar of Israeli Tali Roth who captured the heart of the public with the virtuosity and emotional power of her playing. Tali met the number one guitar player of Japan, KONISHI and perhaps this will be the beginning of a future Israel-Japanese collaboration in the field of Spanish music.
